A “city beach” dining concept in Robertson Quay seems a little far-fetched, but Summerlong has done just that. The concept, brought together by the team behind Neon Pigeon and Fat Prince, aims to bring a little slice of beachside living and a little Mediterranean soul to the rather urban Robertson Quay.
While its bright and breezy beachside décor will immediately conjure images of summer seaside vacations in Europe, Summerlong’s concept follows through fully in its menu offerings. The open kitchen, helmed by Chef Justin Hammond of Neon Pigeon, serves up a mix of Eastern Mediterranean snacks that include a roasted sweet potato & chili hummus ($7) or the creamy greek style burratina ($16). The Beach Shack section of the menu, in line with the restaurant’s beachy theme, also offers a variety of raw and cooked seafood.
With its beachy vibes, Eastern Mediterranean menu, and tropical cocktails, Summerlong is quite possibly the closest you can get to a European beachside vacay without ever stepping on a plane.
